Flaine Ski Apartment - Betelgeuse

Flaine has one of the best snow records in Europe due to it's proximity to abundant water (lakes Geneva and Annecy) and the glacial mass of Mont Blanc. This combined with it's altitude has allowed the ski season to be extended from Early December up to the end of April. (check out the link to see the snow / weather report)

Although not deemed a pretty resort because of the Bauhaus architecture, the resort is traffic free and well planned with all primary facilities on a virtually level walk (Car Park / Tourist Office / Supermarket / Restaurants / Swimming Pool / Ice Rink / Ski School Meeting point and Lift). This has made Flaine popular with families due to it's practicality.

Ski lifts on the basic nursery slopes are free and so for beginners are great value in those first few days. The lift passes are not too expensive by French standards and for intermediates offer access to the extensive network of Blues and Reds. Experts are not left out because of the off-piste opportunities, there are a few challenging runs to test the best, but it is the shere size of the network that gives skiers of all abilities the challenge. Go to the Tourist Office site for more details www.flaine.com.
